Hand Building/Sculpture (7-12yrs)

A great fun learning experience for kids to explore the delights of working with clay. Our classes are lead by experienced teachers all holding “working with children checks.”

In this program kids will be introduced to working with clay. They will have the opportunity to create anything they can imagine. The programme will run over two days either starting Monday the 13th of January or Monday the 20th of January.

Participants will be able to follow the making process. Including decorating, under-glazing and glazing. This will enable students not only to engage with the creative process but also gain an understand of the firing process with discussion of what the heat does in the kiln to change the clay and the colours by “firing”.

We like to think of it as mostly fun, but also a little bit educational.

Please note that the kids will be limited to only firing their favourite few pieces. Parents are welcome to accompany their kids and take the class but will be charged $40 and full price for their clay and firing (please let us know if your planning to accompany your child via email).
