Caine
STUDIO TECH/TEACHER
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, USA and currently residing in Australia, Caine is a formal taught and self explored ceramic artist, teacher and student of the medium with an emphasis on Turkish style wheel-throwing techniques. He practices many forms of ceramics including wheel throwing, slab and coil-building and under-glazing. In his practice, he seeks to explore a range of disciplines by challenging himself through form, functionality and textures. Caine strives to honor the primitive aspects of ceramics while simultaneously giving his pieces a modern twist. Caine’s passion for ceramics extends to teaching others and encourages his students to pursue ceramics as a practice in free-flowing creative meditation.
