STUDIO MEMBERSHIPS
If you have a higher skill level and are able to practise independently—a studio membership at Lygon Street Pottery makes access to the studio more affordable and flexible.
-
Membership is available to students who have completed at least two 6 week courses (preferably at Brixton Street pottery, Brunswick Clay Collective or Lygon Street Pottery, but not exclusively) and are comfortable working independently with minimal or no guidance.
Membership requests will be approved by our studio founders Brigid and Gordon. -
Monthly Membership—$220 per calendar month paid in advance.
Quarterly Membership—$615 per quarter paid in advance
-
A studio membership includes unlimited studio access. Members MUST supply their own tools and materials but have access to the following studio facilities:
Shimpo and Fired Up pottery wheelsSlab rollers, Pug mill, Extruder (Induction required)
Plaster batts
Newspaper and plastic for drying
Shelf space for storage of work-in-progress
On-site firing at a discounted rate
Plenty of space
Community
Tea and coffee facilities -
Staff will load the kilns so it's not necessary for members to know how to do this but members should know how to glaze their work so as not to cause kiln damage.
Firing frequency will depend a little on demand but generally it can be expected fortnightly. During times of high demand there may be a longer wait.
A selection of house glazes are available to use (and will be added to firing charges). Members recieve a 15 per cent discount on firing.
-
Studio access changes depending on what courses are running at the studio or if there is a term break but generally it is available every night and every day.
