This Glaze Application Workshop is designed for beginners and intermediate ceramicists. If you’re wheel throwing or handbulding at home, but lack space or equipment, this is the workshop for you.

Perhaps you would like to learn about all the glazes we have on offer at Lygon Street Pottery and would like to feel more confident booking access to our studio space.

You’ll learn essential techniques for applying glazes, including dipping, brushing and pouring. You will also learn more advanced techniques like layering glazes and using wax resist. And experiment with colour combinations, oxides and stains achieving some wonderful surfaces.

Guided by experienced teachers, you’ll have the opportunity to glaze your own pieces while gaining confidence in your glazing skills. Bring your own bisque-ware (and test pots would be highly recommended) made from either mid fire or stoneware clay. All glaze materials will be provided and 2 kg of firing.
