WEEK 1

3 hour throwing session.

This specialist course is catered towards intermediate to advanced potters. We start with an overview of creating a tableware set, including cups, bowls, and plates (small or large), with the number of pieces determined by your skills and experience.

In the first session we will review essential techniques, focusing on centring, opening, and pulling clay on the wheel. Participants will then learn to shape their pieces with even wall thickness and balance.

WEEK 2

2.5 hour turning session

The second session will involve trimming your pieces thrown the previous week. Participants will explore different ways to add texture and surface decoration using stamps, slips and underglazes. Handles will also be added at this stage.

WEEK 3

2 hour glazing session

The third session includes a discussion on glaze application. Participants can use the wide range of in-house glazes to bring their work to life while developing their own aesthetic. Oxides, underglazes, stains and glazes will be available.

Please choose your classes carefully. We recognise that stuff happens and life throws us changes but we do retain $50 as a cancelation fee if you cancel with more than 10 days notice. Classes cancelled with less than 10 days notice no refund will be offered. We are happy for you to transfer your booking to a friend and share the love but this needs to be done by the individual and is not the responsibility of the school.
