Weekend Workshop- Put a lid on it

Over this weekend we will exploring the wonderful world of lids, from the simple ginger jar to gallery lids with nobs.  There are lots of different ways to do a lid and we’ll aim to take a look at all of them.

Saturday we will throw a range of bodies with different types of openings, and then we’ll throw lids off the hump, to fit these bodies.

On Sunday we’ll trim our pieces, using the bodies as a chuck to trim our lids and focus on the delicate process of getting our lids to fit.

We’ll return the following Saturday to glaze our bisqued work.

This workshop is suitable for those with some experience, who can throw a cylinder and collar in.
