FIVE WEEK- DINNER SET THROWING COURSE WITH SOPHIE HARLE

$390.00 AUD

Have you ever wanted to make your own dinner set?

A few words about the course from Sophie:

Making a dinner set is one of those goals a lot of us have, but never get around to doing.  So, during the semester break, I will be running a 5-week course, just focussed on making a dinner set.

We will start by coming up with a design and doing some drawings to consider curve, lip, foot, decoration, and glaze.

I will then introduce you to throwing off a bat, how to belly out a bowl using a rib, how to pull out the base of a plate, and how to turn these forms so that they sit well on your table.

The aim is for you to produce 4 dinner bowls and 4 dinner plates (OR 4 rice bowls and 4 side plates OR  2 of each).  A dinner set that you can use at home (or give as a wedding present!!).

This course bridges the gap between semesters, for those wanting to continue over the semester break.

The course will also have some structure, as I’ll be demonstrating each part of the process.  If you prefer to be self-directed, I am happy to accommodate.

Price includes firing and materials.
